Posted on: 26 November 2013

The Viviscal C.R.O.S.S. Rugby Legends Cycle charity which supports cancer research at Trinity College Dublin and St James’s Hospital has recently announced that they have raised just over €70,000 to fund translational cancer research in Trinity and St James.

Headed by Professor John Reynolds, Professor of Surgery at the School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin, the research programme targets the prevention and treatment of cancer, in particular cancers of the oesophagus, stomach, lung, bowel, and breast.

“We are privileged to be associated with the Viviscal C.R.O.S.S. Rugby Legends Cycle and appreciate their ongoing commitment to support our research. The much-needed funding enables us to undertake cutting-edge translational cancer research in Trinity,” said Professor Reynolds.

C.R.O.S.S. are now seeking registrations for the 2014 cycle which will see participants join the Wallace Brothers and a host of international rugby legends for a stage, a few stages or the full tour and experience what everyone calls ‘A Legendary Tour’.

The charity fundraiser is the brainchild of Paul Wallace, a member of the well-known Irish rugby sporting family, and Patron of C.R.O.S.S.
