Trinity Walton Club STEM summer camps go virtual 

Do you know a teenager who loves science and maths? Trinity College Dublin’s Trinity Walton Club is excited to announce that its STEM enrichment programmes have gone virtual this summer.

The first of seven 10-day camps began today [Monday June 8th]with curious teenagers from every corner of Ireland meeting in the Nucleus, our virtual landing hub. 

These remote learners will be part of a community of STEM enthusiasts from around the world, engaging in sessions on physics, maths, technology and engineering, and working as part of a team to create a smart device for living in socially distant times.

These activities are designed to respond to the changing needs of society and provide much-needed STEM stimulus, support and time for second-level learners to flourish. 

This online addition demonstrates Trinity Walton Club’s commitment to establishing Trinity, as well as Ireland, as a hub for aspiring and ambitious STEM pioneers.

Virtual learner Daniel Ellison (14), (pictured above) from Kilcock, said:

“I’m really looking forward to this camp. I think it’s a great opportunity to meet people from other schools and do something interesting this summer.”

Trinity Walton Club director Dr Arlene Gallagher (pictured above) said:

“We are very excited to deliver these remote and dynamic STEM learning opportunities, which are meaningful and transformative. At Trinity Walton Club, we continuously ask our Walton community to be agile, innovative and creative. What sort of an example would we be setting if we too did not embrace this opportunity as a time for innovation?‘”

Trinity Walton Club’s STEM camps are for all secondary school students and run for two-week intervals throughout June and July.
