Trinity Summer Series 2018
Posted on: 21 May 2018
Following on from the success of the first Trinity Summer Series last year, the second Trinity Summer Series, organised between MCD and Trinity’s Commercial Revenue Unit (CRU), takes place again in July. This year’s stellar line-up features Grace Jones, Il Divo, Bryan Ferry, Rag’n’Bone Man, Gavin James, and Imelda May.
Hosted in Trinity’s College Park, the six concerts will run from Monday 23rd July to Sunday 29th July with building preparations for the events kicking off on Saturday 21st July.
CRU proceeds from this year’s concert series will go towards funding Trinity’s recently launched Provost’s Provost’s PhD Project Awards. The 40 fully-funded PhD positions, across a wide variety of disciplines, are open to EU and Non-EU candidates and include an annual stipend of €16,000 for four years. These awards are generously funded through alumni donations along with the contribution from Trinity’s Commercial Revenue Unit (CRU).
Other examples of CRU’s contribution to the College’s academic mission of teaching and research from other commercial activities include: the Campus Medium Voltage Upgrade Project, ongoing funding of Ussher posts, the Arts Building refurbishment, the Information Systems Services Mobility Project, Sports Sponsorship, the Trinity Walton Club and the ITS Staff email upgrade.
