Trinity receives InBusiness Recognition Award for Academia Collaboration with Industry

Trinity took home the award for Academia collaboration with industry at the 2018 InBUSINESS Recognition Awards. They were celebrated on 4 December for the 7th consecutive year, acknowledging outstanding accomplishments in the Irish business community. The InBUSINESS Recognition Awards aim to honour and celebrate success, achievement and ambition within Irish business and to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of individuals to grow business in this country.

Trinity’s work with industry stakeholders and agencies, sharing infrastructure, expertise and tackling industry-relevant research challenges has led to collaborations with multinational companies such as Intel and Huawei Technologies. A large part of this work is driven by the SFI research centres that are headquartered in Trinity – ADAPT, AMBER and CONNECT.
In the last five years alone, the college has created over 38 campus companies across all the main sectors of medical devices, pharmaceutical and ICT. Plans to expand on the college’s strong relationship with industry will see a focus on strategic partnerships, developing next generation digital technologies that will transform how people communicate by helping to analyse, personalise and deliver digital data more effectively for businesses and individuals.
