Trinity Physician Receives Outstanding Clinician Award

Emeritus Professor Hilary Hoey was presented with the Outstanding Clinician Award at the 55th Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE). This is the first time that the award has been presented to an Irish physician. This prestigious award is in recognition of Professor Hoey’s outstanding leadership and contribution to the clinical practice of paediatric endocrinology, education and research in Europe and Internationally, in growth, diabetes, obesity and Down Syndrome.
The Award was presented by Chairman of the ESPE Clinical Practice Committee, Professor Gary Butler, at the Annual Scientific Meeting in Paris, attended by over 3800 delegates. Professor Hoey thanked her colleagues across the world and in Ireland, in particular Professor Edna Roche of Trinity’s Department of Paediatrics and Head of the Department of Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology at the National Children’s Hospital Tallaght, and also her family for all of their help and support.
Professor Hoey is Director of Professional Competence at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and Emeritus Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health Trinity College Dublin.
