The Irish Economy Blog Wins Award

The Irish Economy blog, www.irisheconomy.ie, founded by Professor Philip Lane, Professor of International Macroeconomics at Trinity College Dublin, has won the best specialist blog category at the Irish Blog Awards 2009. The blog provides economic analysis by Professor Lane and features contributions from members of the Department of Economics and the School of Business in TCD, in addition to economists from a range of Irish universities and research institutes.
Launched in December 2008, the blog provides people with commentary and information about the Irish economy and aims to give insight into the crisis faced in the global marketplace. Amongst its achievements to date, the Irish Economy has been listed in the ‘top twenty essential blogs’ list according to the Irish Times and has made the top 100 blog list in the Sunday Times. Currently, the Irish Economy blog receives in excess of 1,500 internet hits per day.
