For a second year running, Trinity College Dublin has been awarded an Irish Times Creative Effective Design in Advertising for Recruitment (CEDAR) Award in the Education Category.
The winning advertisement for posts in the Treasurer’s Office featured the question ‘Are your abilities as impressive as our figures?’ with a list of key figures and rankings for the College including annual turnover, research income, staff and alumni figures, and the number of live research accounts among others, presented as a balance sheet. The advertisement was a collaborative initiative between TCD’s Staff Office and Treasurer’s Office and Brindley Advertising.
Eleven awards were presented to recruiting companies and the design or advertising agencies behind their campaign by Maeve Donovan, managing director of The Irish Times Ltd. at a special ceremony.
Chairman of the judging panel and President of the National College of Ireland, Paul Mooney praised the high standard of the entries to this year’s Cedar Awards. Other members of the judging panel included Damian Lenagh, HR Director, DAA, Catherine Corcoran, Partner, Baker Tilly Ryan Glennon, Joe Clancy, Chief Executive, Y&R Ireland, Brendan O Reilly, Art Director, McConnell’s Advertising and Dominic Coyle, deputy business editor, The Irish Times.
This year The Irish Times Cedar Awards celebrated 21 years of the Recruitment Advertising Effectiveness Awards. Since then Recruitment Advertising has changed dramatically, not only in terms of increased volume and size, but more importantly in terms of creative excellence. The Irish Times Cedar Awards is a reflection of this continued advancement.
