Student sponsored silence for Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association
Posted on: 14 February 2019
On Tuesday morning you may have noticed this group of students on the steps of the Exam Hall in Front Square, they were undergraduate students from the Department of Clinical Speech and Language Studies who recently learnt about potential changes to speech and swallowing as a result of motor neurone disease (MND) and the impact this can have on an individual and their families.
As a result, the students were inspired to organise a sponsored silence to promote awareness of motor neurone disease and to fundraise for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. The sponsored silence took place on Tuesday 12th February at 11-11.30am in front of the Exam Hall in Front Square. If you missed it, there is still time to donate directly to their efforts here: www.idonate.ie/TCDSLT.
