Royal Visit 11th July – Campus Access Information
Posted on: 10 July 2018
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be paying a visit to Trinity College Dublin on Wednesday 11 July 2018.
Following advice from An Garda Síochána, on that day staff and students will need to carry up-to-date photographic ID with them at all times. Certain areas of the campus will be restricted, particularly the Front Square, and there may be some need for activities to be re-located.
Front Gate will be closed from 12 midnight 10th July and those who regularly use this entrance are asked to enter through the Nassau Street entrance. There will be a Garda presence at Nassau Street gate and ID will be checked before entry.
As there will be a significant increase in footfall on the Front Square that day, staff and students are asked not to lock bikes to the chains around the green areas on the Front Square and the Library Square.
Should there be events taking place on campus on the 11 July with external attendees, it would be appreciated if a full list of attendees is forwarded to estatesandfacilities@tcd.ie before close of business on 10 July 2018.
Those attendees will be permitted access through the Nassau Street entrance on production of photo identification.
