Proclamation Day at Trinity College Dublin

As part of the many Trinity events marking the Centenary of the 1916 Rising, on Proclamation Day there will be a public reading of the proclamation and a symposium.
On Proclamation Day, Tuesday 15th March, Trinity will take part in a nationwide reading of the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic by all educational institutions. Organised by the TCD Students’ Union 1916 Centenary Initiative the reading by students will take place on the Berkeley Podium at 12.00pm. This will also be accompanied by performances by members of Trinity’s Trad Society.
Organised by the Trinity Long Room Hub and chaired by Professor Jane Ohlmeyer, academics from the History and English departments will explore the 1916 Proclamation in both a historical and global context. ‘The 1916 Proclamation in its National and International Context’
The symposium will take place on 15 March at 6.00pm in the Edmund Burke Theatre.
