Meet Trinity’s Welcome Ambassador Students

As part of the Trinity Visitor Experience, Trinity College Dublin has a team of nine Welcome Ambassador Students who work from June to September promoting the University’s  venues and facilities open to the public which include the Zoological Museum, Book of Kells, Trinity Tours, Science Gallery, cafes, restaurants and accommodation.

 The students take part in a range of promotional activities including dressing in costumes representing different periods of significance in Trinity’s History and engaging with visitors telling them about the university’s history. There is also two tourist information points, at the Nassau Street entrance and at the Old Library entrance which are manned by the Welcome Ambassadors.  The students also answer queries and provide information to those visitors waiting to visit the Book of Kells.

“This is the second year the Welcome Ambassador Student programme has been a part of Trinity’s Visitors Experience, which has proved very successful with visitors, many of whom like to meet and speak with our students,” explains Trinity’s Visitor Services Manager, Anne-Marie Diffley. “This year we are seeing increases in visitors to Trinity particularly from the USA, China, France, Great Britain and Ireland with visitor numbers to the Old Library and the Book of Kells exhibition up 17% for the first half of the year compared to the same period last year.
