Freshers’ Week Kick Starts New Academic Year
Posted on: 22 September 2014
Freshers' Week 2014 started the new academic year on a high note. Front Square was buzzing with activity as over 150 Trinity student societies and clubs encouraged new members to join at their stalls.
“Getting involved in societies leads to an enriched and rounded College experience and is an ideal way to make new friends. Regardless of where your passions and interests lie, there really is something for everyone,” commented Éanna Drury, Chair of the Central Societies Committee.
“There is no need to worry if you missed Freshers' Week, you can still join a society all year around. Simply attend an event being held by the society you wish to join and sign up at the door. Society membership is open to all students and staff of the college community,” Éanna added.
The Provost, Dr Patrick Prendergast, welcomed new students at a special welcome event where students had the opportunity to hear about the campus, curriculum and life at Trinity as they embark on the next exciting stage of their personal and educational development.
