Foresight Business Group launch Journal at Trinity Business Breakfast

The Foresight Business Group hosted its Trinity Term Business Breakfast and Journal Launch on Wednesday 2nd May 2007 in the Dining Hall at Trinity College. Mr. Leo Crawford, Group Chief Executive of BWG Group Ltd addressed over 200 attendees on the topic of ‘Innovating to Win: Spar’s Strategic Plan’ and detailed the challenges and opportunities that exist within the grocery market.
Chairperson, Paul Dalton noted that the Foresight Business Group celebrated its 35th anniversary this year; highlighting that throughout the years, the group has achieved its aim time and time again of providing real transferable skills to the students of Trinity College, while also providing a forum for interaction to allow students to network themselves with some of Ireland’s leading business professionals.
The 14th volume of the Journal, launched at the event, includes an eclectic mix of essays on a broad variety of topics which reflects the diversity of modern business today; both theory and practice. Incoming Chairperson Sam Nolan expressed the sentiments of the group commenting on the exceptional standard and insights into business shared by all of the authors.
Senior Sophister B.A. student Owen Douglas collected the prize for the best essay with his topical and insightful essay titled ‘Information Systems: The Secrets to Success in a World of Failure’. It is expected that the journal, like all those produced in previous years, will be a source of reference to both the business and college communities for many years to come.
