Christmas Tree Lighting Kicks Off the Festive Season

The countdown to Christmas in Trinity College started on December 1st with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in Front Square. Almost 2,500 students, staff and friends gathered at the event which was hosted by the Provost, Dr Patrick Prendergast.

Students’ Union President, Domhnall McGlacken-Byrne, was invited to turn on the lights by the Provost.

Christmas carols and songs, led by the Trinity College Singers, filled the air. Some of the College’s suppliers generously provided mince pies and hot beverages which were enjoyed by the crowd during the festive event.
