Trinity joins EIT Urban Mobility to create liveable urban spaces
Trinity College Dublin and Tangent, Trinity’s Ideas Workspace have announced membership of Urban Mobility (UM), an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Trinity's membership of EIT UM will be officially launched at an event in Tangent, Trinity's Ideas Workspace today, Wednesday 22nd March from 12pm during Green Week.

Introducing Trinity tree of the month - the Ginkgo
This month we are featuring our two Ginkgo biloba trees, commonly known as Ginkgo which were planted in Library Square in 2019. The north side Ginkgo is 45cm wide and 9 metres tall while the south side tree is 47cm wide and almost 8 metres tall. When these trees are mature, they will store up to 4,954 kilograms of carbon.

Three Trinity researchers win European Research Council Advanced Grants
Professors Jennifer McElwain, Seamus Martin and Daniel Kelly will pursue research projects in botany, immunity and inflammation, and bioengineering. Their awards bring the total number of ERC Investigator Grants awarded at Trinity under the Horizon 2020 funding programme to 44, with a total value of €83 million.

Trinity and Ryanair launch sustainable aviation research centre
A €1.5m donation will seed a multi-disciplinary team to engage in research around 1) sustainable aviation fuels, 2) zero carbon aircraft propulsion systems and 3) noise mapping. Ryanair has committed to 12.5% of its flights using sustainable aviation fuels by 2030.
