Trinity welcomes STEMM community to ItsHer Summit

The summit (March 7 and 8) will bring the STEMM community together to share ideas and celebrate achievements in support of International Women’s Day.

Trinity’s School of Physics, in collaboration with the Institute of Physics (IOP) and the STEMM Global Scientific Society, will host the Women in STEMM Summit 2024, ‘ITSHER’. The summit will take place simultaneously in Trinity and in the Institute of Physics, London, on March 7-8th.
This inspiring and empowering event will bring together a community of accomplished women and forward-thinking businesses to drive innovation, collaboration, and positive change in the STEMM fields.
Ortwin Hess, Professor of Quantum Nanophotonics in Trinity’s School of Physics and the CRANN Institute, is a member of the organising committee. He said: “As we gather to celebrate International Women's Day, we cannot over-emphasise the importance of supporting female involvement in STEMM.
“This summit represents an essential opportunity to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and promote positive change and inclusiveness within the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine. I eagerly anticipate the dynamic discussions and inspiring presentations that I’m sure will unfold, showcasing the remarkable contributions of female scientists and engineers across Ireland.”
The ITSHER 2024 is a dynamic, interdisciplinary conference on Innovations in Technology and Science in Higher Education and Research. The scientific programme is carefully curated to offer a blend of powerful talks and enlightening presentations, showcasing the incredible research and innovations spearheaded by female scientists and engineers across Ireland.
Topics include all STEMM disciplines (physics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, health sciences, life sciences, and materials science) and the programme is enriched by special sessions and panel discussions devoted to career development in academia and industry for female professionals, as well as innovation sessions with the opportunity to receive feedback from industry practitioners.
