Secondary school students prepare for iGeo in Trinity

Secondary school students Riddhiba Rana and Jennifer Grimes (Manor House School, Raheny) and Cadhla Tuner and Ava Mulhall (Wicklow Town Educate Together Secondary School), pictured above, came to Trinity today to prepare for the 20th International Geography Olympiad (iGeo).
The students will be the first to represent Ireland at the iGeo, which brings together 16–19-year-olds from across the world to take part in geographical fieldwork, examinations and cultural exchanges.

Chaired by Dr Susan Pike of Trinity’s School of Education, the Olympiad encourages young people to engage with geography to understand and question the world around them and to become active global citizens. It will take place in Trinity and at Maynooth University in August and is the largest event for geographers in the world.
