Lecture series on the history and culture of Europe’s eastern regions

A free weekly public lecture series commencing this month aims to cast a spotlight on parts of our continent which are less familiar to Irish audiences.

Entitled Understanding Europe’s East ,  the lecture series has been organised by the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies, Trinity College Dublin in partnership with the DU Eastern European Society and the DU History Society.

The first lecture – on Bulgaria - will take place on Thursday, 22 February at 6 pm in the Thomas Davis Theatre, Arts Building TCD. The other six lectures will take place on successive Thursdays to 11 April – all at the same time (6 pm) and in the same venue.

This initiative draws on in-house, local and international expertise.  It is part-funded by the TCD Faculty Events Fund (FAHSS).
