National Recognition for Printing House Square

Printing House Square in Trinity College Dublin was announced as the winner of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland's Award for the Learning Environments category last week. This a national award recognising a broad range of categories in the field of architecture in Ireland. The development provides 249 student bedrooms, a new health centre, a disability centre, sporting facilities and a new square on campus.

For McCullough Mulvin, our architects for the project, this is national recognition by their peers for the excellence of their design of Printing House Square. It is also a fitting tribute to the late Niall McCullough whose work did so much to shape our modern campus.

Mike Clarke, Trinity's Director of Campus Infrastructure, commented:

"This award is great recognition for our architects, McCullough Mulvin and also the Estates and Facilities Team involved in what we all know has been a challenging project but is such a terrific addition to our campus.

It is also important to recognise the internal team within E&F whose efforts greatly contributed to the delivery of the project, especially Jimmy Doyle (Retired), Greg Power, Stephen Walsh, Les Howard and Sandra Kenny. Also, not forgetting the efforts of Moira Bailey, Paul Bolger, David Marley, Barney Smith, Phil Stuart, Stephen Toomey and John Kelly in nurturing the building along since we took possession last year."
