Trinity Sports Youth Coaching Academy 2026
Trinity Sports Youth Coaching Academy is an initiative to provide 16–17-year-old budding coaches, youth leaders, and sports professionals with the tools to start their journey in sport coaching
This five-day long programme consists of workshops, training, and interactive learning sessions to give young people the knowledge and skills to coach children and young people. We have partnered with Sport Ireland and internal training facilitators to create a fun, educational and exciting week which will help to build confidence, improve leadership skills and create well-rounded coaches.
Upon completion of the course, each participant will put their new skills to use, volunteering at our Bravehearts summer camp for 1 week, which runs for 8 weeks from the 29th of June to the 21st of August.

Trinity Sport Youth High Performance Clinic
The Youth High Performance Clinic is an opportunity for young people to progress in their sports. It is open to all levels, for teenagers with no previous strength and conditioning experience, and to athletes looking to take their game to the next level.
Trinity Sport's High-Performance team will cover an introduction to Strength and Conditioning, and fundamentals of Movement, Strength, Power and Speed Testing and Nutrition. All Participants will receive results from their testing, gain insights and receive a programme to help them improve their sporting performance.
This summer's Youth Performance Clinics are three-day courses, which will run from the 16th – 18th of June, and will be priced at €200. Please book through our online Sportskey page.

Frequently Asked Questions
This programme is aimed at 16-17-year-olds who are starting out their journey in coaching and leadership. With some of the qualifications on offer, we believe this is the ideal age group to complete the course.
The week-long camp/course will include but is not limited to the following:
- Coaching Children Certification (Facilitated by Sport Ireland)
- Fundamentals of movement coaching
- Leadership and coaching skills workshop
- Team building exercises
- Peer to peer review of mini-coaching sessions
- Fun activities to encourage discussion among peers
The Youth Coaching Academy will run from Monday the 8th to Friday the 12th of June. The cost of the course is €175.

Attendees apply by completing the application via the form below. Any queries surrounding the course should be directed to children.sports@tcd.ie.
On completion of the course, there will then be an opportunity to volunteer in kids' programmes that run at Trinity Sport. Our youth coaches will be paired up with experienced sports leaders and work alongside them in a variety of sports. There will be an opportunity to lead sports sessions, work with the children, and feedback on their experiences upon completion.
At this point, we will be able to assess the next steps for participants and there will be an opportunity for paid casual work.

There is a limited amount of spaces available at the Youth Coaching Academy. We have capped spaces at 20 to allow for a better learning environment and ensure that each attendee gets the most out of the week.
We are located on the corner of Pearse Street and Westland Row. There is a pedestrian walkway between the Trinity Sports Centre and The Science Gallery of Trinity College Dublin.

- The following bus routes stop right outside Trinity Sport 25, 25a, 25b, 25d, 37, 39, 39a, 70, 757. We are within walking distance from all major bus routes from O’Connell Street.
Parking
- Trinity Sport does not offer to park, however, there are some street car parks located nearby.

- Sportswear/clothing to complete practical parts of the course
- Swim gear, swim hat, and goggles (if required) for completing the swimming element
- Stationary for taking notes
