Trinity College Dublin’s women’s volleyball team delivered a commanding performance to defeat DCU 3-0 in the Women's Student Sport Ireland (SSI) / Volleyball Ireland Cup on 30 March 2025. The match, which took place at the UL Arena, marked the third championship final between the two sides with Trinity emerging victorious each time.

This match was a great contest with an electric atmosphere, with TCD having two Senior International players on their side, Grace Moloney and Lara McNichols, and DCU having three Senior International players on their side, Emma Byrne, Eimear Byrne and Jess Dowling.
From the opening set Trinity set the tone with exceptional blocking, shutting down DCU’s attacking options and asserting their dominance at the net. Middle hitter Isadora Evers played a pivotal role, making crucial blocks and providing a strong presence in attack particularly in the first set. Despite a determined DCU side, Trinity’s defensive resilience and well-executed attacks kept them in control throughout the match.

Reflecting on the victory, Trinity’s Senior International player Grace Moloney praised the team’s effort, “Every set was a fight, but we showed great resilience and hard work throughout the match. This was our last student match of the year, and it was fantastic to finish with a win.”
With this triumph, Trinity completes an exceptional season, having already secured the student league and intervarsity titles. Their focus now shifts to the club premier league, where they will compete in the semi-finals in the coming weeks.
“This has been an incredible season, and I’ve loved being part of such a hardworking and passionate group,” Moloney added. “Everyone has put in so much effort, and it has really paid off.”
