She has won several awards and Scholarships, has occupied a range of institutional positions, and she has chaired and has participated in the organising committee of several conferences and workshops. Dr. Pérez-Luño"s research interests have evolved over time. Her first contributions date back to her doctoral dissertation and address the question of how different contingencies, knowledge, human resources, high-performance work practices, as well as market and entrepreneurial orientation influence innovation generation, innovation adoption, and company success. Over the last years, she has combined her original line of interest with another field: the psychological variables of students, managers and entrepreneurs that lead to creativity, innovation, and business success. Within this latter subject, she has focused on mental health, i.e., mental disorders such as ADHD and stress, and positive mental health behaviours, e.g., wellbeing and Psychological Capital. Ana Pérez-Luño's dedication to the impact of mental health on individuals' behaviours has led her to undertake a degree in Psychology that she has completed at the UNED (Spain"s Distance University). Along with her academic interests, one of Ana's main hobbies is to travel and get to know different cultures. That is why she has moved to different universities during her life. She has three sons (two teenage girls and a six-year-old boy). She like them to join her in her adventures. May be because she likes adventures, she is a tireless reader. She also likes to play paddle and loves walking.

Research Expertise
As an active researcher in several local and international research groups, I am currently cooperating with colleagues from 26 countries around the world. I am the PI of the research projects: 1. PID2020-114751RB-I00: Innovation in start-ups: A contingent analysis of entrepreneurial creativity, the characteristics of the founding team and the participation in acceleration programs (INNOSTART). 2. PY20_00856. Entrepreneurial Creativity as a Key Resource for Innovation and Economic and Psychosocial well-being in Times of Crisis: A Gendered Analysis. 3. UPO-1258353: Winemaker's personality, innovation and local-regional articulation as key success factors in wine tourism activities: a multidisciplinary study. All three projects share common aspects: First, they centre on understanding individuals (their personality, wellbeing...). Second, they focus on innovation and creativity, taking special attention to Social innovation. Finally, they all adopt a gender perspective. These projects' aims are in line with different Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3, SDG 4, SDG 5, SDG 8, SDG 9, SDG 10). The funding received for projects 1 and 2 are being used, among others, to collaborate in the international groups Supporting Entrepreneurship during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Global Study of Entrepreneurs' Resilience and Well-being and ECREABIEN. In addition, the three projects have led to the collection of longitudinal data on social innovation, entrepreneurs creativity, wellbeing, and other variables. I am using all of this data to conduct interesting research that has been published or in the process of being disseminated in reports, the media, in conferences and in academic journals. For example, papers from these projects have been published in Entrepreneurial Theory and Practice, in the International Journal of Manpower and in conference proceedings such as Frontiers of Entrepreneurship Research and the Academy of Management Proceedings. Even more, these projects results have been published in press too. Currently, we have received the questionnaires that are helping us to understand how entrepreneurs have dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic and how they are addressing the current situation. The data will continue to be analysed and the findings disseminated over the next years. I have also used the fundings to organise the International Workshop Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in post-crisis times in 2022. The funding of project 3, together with my participation at the international project SO3/P2/F0917 Vin, innovation et compétitivité internationale (VINCI, financed by the European Commission, SUDOE Programme, 1.166.250€, 1/10/2019-30/09/2022), has been used to conduct an in-depth analysis of the Spanish Wine industry, with a focus on social innovation. Using ethnographic analyses, case studies, interviews, and surveys, we are conducting interesting research that has been published or is in the process of being disseminated in reports, the media, at conferences and in academic journals. The data will be further exploited and the findings circulated over the next years. At Trinity, I have gained two grants from the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and one from the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS). The first from the FAHSS and the one from SAMS aim to finance the Workshops on New Entrepreneurial Trends (TBS, May 2024). The second one aims to start a new line of research on the Lights and Shadows of Social Media on Diverse Entrepreneurs: The Role of Psychological Resources. I have applied for another grant to supervise 4 PhD theses and I'm working on and EU funding proposal.

TitleInnovation in startups: A contingent analysis of entrepreneurial creativity, the characteristics of the founding team and the participation in acceleration programsSummaryThe key aspects for economic growth and improved productivity lies in the entrepreneurial capacity of an economy (Prodi, 2002). In Spain, the 2.9 million SMEs and the self-employed contribute 65% of GDP and 75% of jobs (MINCOTUR, 2020). Unfortunately, COVID-19 is having serious consequences on business activity of all types of companies, and especially for the entrepreneurial population (GEM, 2020). The entrepreneurial population is a special group at risk due to the fragility with which they face crises. On the one hand, its financial and human resources are limited. On the other, they have a responsibility for their workers and organizations that magnifies the emotional and economic burden suffered in especially complex situations (Wach et al., 2020). Entrepreneurship was important before the crisis, however, now it is essential to guarantee not only survival, but also to operations, working to solve a problem for which there is no obvious solution, with a strong technological component and high growth potential (Michelino et al., 2017). Its small size and youth imply a shortage of financial and technical resources for the development of new technologies and their launch on the market. Therefore, its innovation and success depend on other types of resources. Thus, the General Objective proposed in this proposal is: to contingently analyze how the individual characteristics of the entrepreneur that lead to creativity (having as a antecedents their gender, age and socioeconomic origin; and cognitive and emotional factors such as psychological capital, psychosocial well-being and stress), those of the founding team (intellectual capital and demographic and functional diversity) and participation in acceleration programs influence the innovation and success of startups. This objective is aligned with Challenge 6 of the State Plan, contributing to the understanding and generation of knowledge about a part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, incorporating the gender perspective, in its role as a generator of innovation and growth. Starting from a wide database of startups and Spanish accelerators (already available by the members of the proposal), the project includes a longitudinal study (including a multi-case study, online surveys and daily short telephone interviews for 10 consecutive days in two moments of time) to support the initial hypothesis and to achieve the general and specific objectives detailed in the proposal. The proposal is novel because: 1) Compared with previous partial studies, it combines individual, organizational and contextual elements to explain the phenomenon of innovation and the success of Startups. 2) It explains that entrepreneurial creativity, one of the determinants of Startup innovation and success, is a changing state that can be increased by influencing the variables that impacts it. 3) It carries out an analysis of the main characteristics of the founding team that favor innovation and success in Startups. 4) It analyzes the differential impact of participation in acceleration programs from the perspective of Startups. 5) It applies the longitudinal methodology to be able to identify modifications in the variables.Funding AgencySpainish Ministry of ScienceDate From01/09/2021Date To01/09/2024
