There is a long history of masculine values that have been immersed in the workplace going back since the Industrial Revolution, according to Dr Na Fu: 

"The structure of the average working day was designed for a time when male workers were dominant. So, at the regulation and policy level, more work needs to be done to create a more gender-inclusive work culture."
