Trinity College’s Ireland’s Project Economy annual survey is the only research of its kind carried out in Ireland. Its purpose is to investigate the careers, opportunities, well-being, and challenges that face the freelance, independent professional, contractor, and self-employed sector in Ireland.

The 2023 survey is now open and we are very interested in hearing your views and about your experience over the last year.  Over the last two years, we’ve amplified the voices of independent contractors/professionals and freelancers as well as others engaged with the project economy.  To have your voice heard, please complete the survey.  This helps us share your views with the wider community - including government and other stakeholders (Take the Survey).

The study is independently carried out and led by Professors Andrew Burke and Na Fu at the Business School, Trinity College Dublin. It is sponsored by Contracting PLUS.

The survey is confidential, and your answers will not be shared with third parties. The research complies with the GDPR and ethics policies of Trinity College Dublin. The results are reported in aggregate data form, no individual’s data will ever be published.

We would greatly appreciate your input into the survey, all participants will receive a free copy of the completed report.  There is also an opportunity to attend networks events for survey participants including the Trinity Business Forum event on March 8: Empowering Good Business.  Participants can also enter into a draw for 500 Euro to be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice.

Thank you very much for your time and sharing your experience with us.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Andrew Burke, Dean of Trinity Business School and founding co-author of the UK’s Freelance Confidence Index survey
